To help you celebrate the women in your life, we’ve rounded up seven ways you can support gender equality.
Dear John
For over 100 years, feminists around the world have marked International Women’s Day on March 8th as a day to both celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women as well as to call attention to persisting gender inequality. To help you celebrate the women in your life, we’ve rounded up seven ways you can support gender equality and break the bias this International Women’s Day.
1. Set up a monthly gift to Equality Now
Since 1992, we’ve been changing the law and the lives of women and girls around the world. But none of that would be possible without our incredible network of supporters. To help celebrate International Women’s Day, consider starting a month ([link removed]) ly donation ([link removed]) and helping support our global team of human rights lawyers and advocates.

2. Fundraise with your workplace
Fundraising for a cause is a great way to increase employee engagement. Working-from-home has brought with it an array of virtual fundraising opportunities that can facilitate team building while also helping to promote equality for women and girls around the world. A few of our favorite ideas include organizing a virtual happy hour, trivia night, or book club. Don’t forget to ask your employer whether they can match your donation!

3. Stream for equality
Start gaming for gender equality! Charity livestreams are one of the fastest-growing methods of fundraising, and with your help, you can help raise awareness and funds in critical support for women and girls. You can easily add a fundraising widget to your gaming or vlogging livestreams thanks to our partner Tiltify ([link removed]) .
Tiltify is compatible with Twitch, Facebook Live, and other streaming platforms.

4. Fundraise on social media

Why not set up a Facebook ([link removed]) or Instagram ([link removed]) fundraiser to honor the incredible women in your life and celebrate International Women’s Day? You can even add a donate button directly to your Instagram or Facebook live stream.

Check out our Feminist Culture Club for recommendations of books, films, and podcasts to get you started. ([link removed])
7. Wish someone in your life a “Happy International Women’s Day!”
Use the day as an opportunity to reflect on the progress that’s been made around the world, and the work we still have left to do. As simple as it may sound, just wishing someone “Happy International Women’s Day” could be the start of a conversation that leads them to join our movement for change and to help improve the lives of women and girls around the globe.
However you mark International Women’s Day, don’t forget to tag us on social media and use the hashtags #BreakTheBias, #IWD2022, and #MakeEqualityReality.
In solidarity.
