To keep Cori in Congress, we need the support of this people-powered movement.
John, this grassroots team made history in 2020. Now, we have to do it again.
Cori will be up for re-election for the first time as a member of Congress this year, and the GOP has named Cori a top target in their efforts to weaken our progressive coalition and win control of the House.
Here's the situation: Two Republicans and three Democrats have already filed to run against Cori in the race to represent Missouri's First Congressional district, and more challengers could announce any day now. Our primary election is only five months away, and winning is anything but a given. (Remember: Cori won her last race by only three points.)
Here's what we're facing: Less-than-progressive primary challengers and our future Republican opponent will have the support of far-right super PACs and mega-donors. Last cycle, over $20 million was spent trying to take down Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar.
Here's the solution: To keep Cori in Congress, we need the support of this people-powered movement. We're hiring staff, growing our organizing program, and reaching out to voters, but we need your help to fund these investments.
That's why we're setting a goal to raise $30,000 by our end-of-month deadline Monday at midnight. With multiple challengers in this race, we can't afford to be complacent. John, can you chip in now to help hit our February fundraising goal and power this campaign to re-elect Cori?
Chip in $5
The work we do right now will determine our position on Election Day, so we're not wasting any time. Here's just some of what we have planned over the next months:
- Canvasses to meet members of the community where they are.
- Phone banks to share Cori's platform directly with voters.
- Running digital ads on Facebook, Instagram, and Google to bring new supporters into our movement.
- Spreading our message in local news, in person, and through social media platforms.
- Building this team of staff, volunteers, and supporters dedicated to the mission of re-electing Cori.
This won't be easy, John. We're going to have to hustle for the next two days to make sure we can hit this $30,000 end-of-month goal. But if we come together right now, we will re-elect the first Black Congresswoman to represent Missouri on Election Day.
Please, will you donate $5 or anything you can to help us reach our goal? Every dollar you give powers Cori’s work in Congress to lift up regular, everyday people, protect Black lives and livelihoods, and transform the way we do politics.
Together,
Team Cori
