Hi John — hope your weekend is starting off well.

It’s the end of the month again, so in a minute, I need to ask you to contribute towards our campaign’s $10,000 February fundraising goal. But let me give a little context first:

Despite the fact that courts threw out North Carolina Republicans’ ultra-partisan congressional map (for the second time in a decade), our upcoming state legislature elections are still going to be held under district lines that will unfairly favor Republican candidates and make it difficult for Democrats to break through.

The reality is that Republicans are setting themselves up to win a supermajority in the state legislature — one that could allow them to push through dangerous, radical legislation that is simply wrong for North Carolina.

Democrats in our state desperately need to work together to stand a chance in the face of such extreme gerrymandering. I intend to do everything I can to help candidates up and down the ballot in November and beyond, but that takes resources.
