Praise God for justice in a cross-border labor exploitation case in Romania, after five perpetrators were found guilty of trafficking. Pray for the survivors’ journey towards restoration and empowerment as IJM continues to support them and seek avenues for requesting compensation on their behalf.
Latin America
Pray for the testing stage of the Northern Triangle’s digital version of the Public Narrative survivor leadership training.
IJM Northern Triangle worked with an Instructional Design firm to recreate the delivery of a training that empowers survivors to tell their stories. The team is live testing the prototype with a cohort of about 20 survivors. Please pray for the survivors that will be taking the course, for the coaches and facilitators that will be accompanying the survivor-trainees, and for the team that is evaluating the prototype’s strengths and areas for improvement. IJM’s goal is for this tool to enable the reaching and empowering of many hundreds of survivors that IJM Northern Triangle would otherwise never be able to engage.
South Asia
Pray for IJM staff and partners supporting the government on a huge prevalence study on bonded labor slavery. This massive study is one of the first times the government has funded this on their own—which is a huge sign of progress in their fight against the crime. Pray for safety as the study team travels to remote villages and businesses to capture the truth about bonded labor and human trafficking. Pray that God would guide their steps and direct their eyes to those in need.
Southeast Asia
Praise God for the incredible opportunity IJM Thailand has as they coordinate with the Royal Thai Government in the "Victim Identification Center" project! This project will address the current gaps in the victim identification process, and IJM will provide the necessary feedback and other inputs. Pray for wisdom for IJM Thailand and the Royal Thai Government as they collaborate on this and several other projects going forward.
