Click here STATEMENT BY SOLDIERS' ANGELS CEO AMY PALMER ON SUPPORTING U.S. TROOPS IN RESPONSE TO THE CONFLICT IN UKRAINE"Like most Americans, we are horrified at the escalating violence in Ukraine and senseless loss of life. As is our mission, Soldiers' Angels has supported U.S. military personnel deployed to NATO countries since February 2003. Now that the region has grown more unstable, and additional service women and men are deployed, they will need the support of the American people in recognition of their sacrifice. Those deployed and their families will need our support through programs like Deployed Adoptions, Baby Brigade, Cards Plus, and more. We are prepared to ramp-up our base of operations at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Germany should the need arise. We are confident that our Angel Volunteers and stakeholders will respond given their continuous generosity and support, most recently with helping our Afghan allies settle in the U.S. Above all, we hope for a quick, peaceful resolution to this conflict so our service men and women can safely return home."- Amy Palmer | Soldiers' Angels President and CEOIf you know anyone deploying, please share information with them about Soldiers' Angels.Soldiers' Angels Deployed Support Team provides resources to those deployed in support of combat or humanitarian missions. Our team of Angel volounteers are ready to support them if they are called to support a combat location. They only need to register one time but can qualify for a range of support including:
As the need for support continues to grow, we will also need more volunteers to provide that support. If you are not already a member of a Soldiers' Angels virtual team that supports deployed service members, please consider joining one or more teams and help to provide this much-needed support. Deployed Adoptions Team Send care packages, letters, cards, and more to those deployed in support of combat or humanitarian missions. Currently, we have 219 service members awaiting adoption. Ladies of Liberty Team All-female virtual volunteer team that supports deployed females or “Shero’s” with female-specific care packages. Angel Bakers Team Volunteer to bake for deployed service members and send care packages filled with homemade cookies, brownies, cakes, and other delicious treats. Chaplain Support Team Provide direct (non-denominational) support to deployed Chaplains. Letter Writing Team Volunteers on this virtual team write letters to deployed service members who have registered to receive support from the Deployed Adoptions Team. The letters help to engage service members while they wait to be “adopted.” If you are unable to support through volunteerism, please consider making a donation that will help provide additional support to those deployed.Thank you for your continued support of the military community! |
