Fellow Conservative,

President Biden is set to give his State of the Union speech on Tuesday, March 1.

Normally, a President would use this opportunity to highlight their accomplishments, but Biden can’t do that.

Because here’s what Biden’s presidency has given us:

  • Cities across America are devastated by crime.
  • The Left is forcing critical race theory on our students.
  • American energy independence is gone.
  • There’s record inflation month after month.
  • Unlawful mandates have forced Americans out of their jobs.
  • Biden officials have called for Big Tech to censor citizens who question their narrative.

It’s clear that America is at a critical moment. Americans are looking for leadership from the Commander in Chief and President.

America is a beacon to the world when it is strong, free, and energy independent—when we cherish individual liberty and our government upholds just laws.

Everyone knows that a course change is needed. Everyone knows that another year of the same failed policies is bad for America and for the free world.

And so, all the world’s eyes will be watching President Biden on Tuesday night.

On Friday, Biden announced his decision on a replacement for Justice Breyer’s seat on the Supreme Court, a seat that is still being occupied.

Indeed, Justice Breyer intends to keep his seat until at least June, and even longer if a replacement is not yet confirmed.

So there’s no need to rush the process, but Senate Democrats will try to rush it anyways. Due diligence does not benefit them.

Biden has nominated Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to fill the seat, but she was hand-picked by far-Left groups like Demand Justice, who fully expect her to rule according to their progressive judicial philosophy rather than uphold the Constitution.

As a judge, Ketanji Brown Jackson has ruled as a liberal activist. She once blocked the Trump administration from deporting illegal immigrants faster, and the Left-wing National Immigration Law Center has praised her for refusing to use the words “aliens” or “illegals.”

The U.S. House and Senate were both in recess this week, so legislatively, not a lot happened at the federal level.

But things were buzzing at the state level, and conservatives’ hard work paid off with several key legislative victories:

  • Arizona—This week, the Arizona legislature passed the Arizonans for Voter ID Act ballot initiative. Over 80 percent of Arizonans support protecting their vote with Voter ID, and so now voters will have their voice heard on the issue with this ballot initiative.
  • Florida—The Florida House of Representatives passed HB 1557, or the “Parental Rights in Education Bill”. If passed in the Florida Senate, this legislation would serve to provide curriculum transparency in Florida public schools and let parents fly the plane when it comes to their child’s education and protect them from being taught sexually explicit material.

The Left has embarked on a misinformation campaign against Florida’s bill for parental rights, but we’ve been setting the record straight. Heritage Action broke down the myths vs facts around this bill on a podcast episode this week so you could get the real story.

It’s legislative victories on issues like this that will drive real change and improve the lives of Americans. Our republic is healthier when parents are involved in their children’s education and when our vote is protected by Voter ID.
