As a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee who has traveled to Europe recently to meet with allies on this issue, let me be clear: We stand with the people of Ukraine against Vladimir Putin’s unprovoked aggression.

The unprovoked and unjustified invasion of Ukraine is an attack on global peace and security. It is a clear violation of international law.

We must act swiftly and decisively to make sure that Putin faces the consequences of his assault on Ukraine.

On Thursday, President Biden announced a series of sanctions aimed at crippling Russia’s economic competition on the global stage. Together, with our NATO and UN allies, we will hold firm and hold Putin accountable for this attack on the values of democracy.

If we want democracy to thrive for future generations, we must stand together with other democracies across the world.

Thank you for your time and be well,

Ami Bera
