Dear John,

Today, I want to share with you my thoughts on Russia’s premeditated war against the sovereign nation of Ukraine.

This is an attack on democracy and a grave violation of international law, global peace, and security. Vladimir Putin’s actions will cause a devastating loss of lives and a diminishment of Russia in the world order.

I stand with President Biden and our allies to demonstrate our unswerving resolve during this time of suffering of the Ukrainian people. Putin cannot splinter our alliance and our response of sweeping and crushing sanctions will continue to cost Russia economically, diplomatically, and strategically.

I know you join me in prayer for the Ukrainian people.
