Ope!

Like many other midwesterners, it’s my go-to when I’m surprised. I actually caught myself Oping when I checked ActBlue to see how All On The Line’s 3-year Anniversary Membership Drive was coming along.

We need 4,170 more supporters to hit our goal of 5,000 2022 AOTL Members! I told our finance team I thought I could cut that gap in half if I explained why this goal was so important. We launched this membership drive now because it’s honestly never been quite so important to show our strength as a movement.

All On The Line just had its 3-year anniversary on Tuesday -- and each year, things have changed for us.

Year 1 was about getting our footing -- showing that redistricting wasn’t just something you learned about in government class, but something citizens could actively engage with.

Year 2 was a surprise for all of us. We had to learn how to organize during a pandemic and had to refocus our advocacy efforts to ensure that citizens could be counted in a census and vote in an election like none have ever seen before.

Year 3 is when we showed the world that our movement had arrived. We’ve seen headlines about a “redistricting turnaround” and have been instrumental in securing fair maps across the country.

Year 4 will be about showing how the change that we’ve worked to create is sustainable. We must show our resilience and durability as a movement -- that we were built to start strong, but finish stronger.
