President Biden has announced Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson as his nominee
to the Supreme Court. Jackson is a former public defender with a deep
commitment to justice and the first Black woman nominated to the Supreme
Court.

This historic moment is a fulfillment of President Biden's promise to
nominate a Black woman to the Supreme Court, and we are so proud of Cori's
leadership through this process.

monumental step toward justice is possible in part thanks to our movement.

First, when Justice Stephen Breyer announced his retirement from the
Supreme Court, Cori was one of the first to call for President Biden to
nominate a progressive Black woman to the Supreme Court.

Then, Cori led 13 Black women lawmakers in sending a letter to President
Biden advocating for his nominee to have a record of pushing for racial
justice and commitment to ending entrenched white supremacy.

Now, we're ready to work and ensure Judge Jackson is confirmed by the
Senate to the Supreme Court. With Roe v. Wade, gun rights, voting rights,
affirmative action, and more on the line, we cannot let far-right senators
undermine this nomination.

John, as the
first Black woman elected to represent Missouri in Congress, Cori
understands that being the first is about more than symbolism. It's about
saving lives.
