President Biden just announced his nomination to the Supreme Court of the United States: Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson. She is extremely qualified and has received bipartisan support in the U.S. Senate during previous confirmations. I trust that she will continue to defend constitutional, lifesaving gun violence prevention laws – and her presence on the court could not come at a more critical time.
This is another critical move by President Biden in support of a country safe from gun violence.
While Judge Brown Jackson is appointed and, hopefully, confirmed, the Supreme Court is in the midst of considering another consequential case for gun laws. The Court will decide soon whether to lift restrictions on concealed carry permits – and the NRA is tirelessly working to convince them to gut gun laws as we know them. That’s why I’m asking all of our grassroots supporters to raise their voices today, as we cheer the nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, to make one thing clear to the highest court in the land:
The majority of Americans support bipartisan, common-sense gun safety laws that save lives.
