Today, President Biden announced that he has nominated Judge Ketanji Brown
Jackson to fill the soon to be vacant seat of Justice Stephen Breyer.

Supreme Court. Currently serving on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C.
Circuit, she is one of our nation’s brightest legal minds and will be an
exceptional Justice.

Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is a brilliant legal mind, a jurist with a
proven record of protecting the rights of the most vulnerable, and,
critically, a public defender by training, the first ever to rise to the
Supreme Court. 

If confirmed, Kentanji Brown Jackson would also be the first Black woman
to serve on the Supreme Court of the United States. This nomination brings
us a step closer to building a multiracial, multicultural democracy.

With progressive values on the line, including voting rights, LGTBQ+
protections, and Roe v. Wade hanging in the balance, it is critical that
we get Judge Jackson into this seat.

With the decision coming down to the current 50-50 Senate, we need to do
everything we can to make sure Judge Jackson is confirmed without delay.
