This week in Israel
More than 40 members of Congress spent the past week in Israel with AIEF—the charitable organization affiliated with AIPAC.
The trips allow elected officials to forge deep personal connections to Israel and its people. And they provide powerful opportunities for members of Congress to make informed U.S. foreign policy decisions.
Democrats and Republicans visited the Knesset and took part in meetings with Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, Foreign Minister Yair Lapid, Defense Minister Benny Gantz, and Opposition Leader Benjamin Netanyahu.
They traveled to Israel’s northern and southern borders, visited an Iron Dome base, met with Jewish and Arab entrepreneurs showcasing Israel’s start-up ingenuity, and held in-depth discussions with experts about the issues defining the U.S.-Israel relationship.
The two delegations also joined together to tour the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial museum in Jerusalem.
