Today, I was thrilled to learn that President Biden is nominating Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, one of our nation’s brightest legal minds, to the Supreme Court.
As the Chairman of the Judiciary Committee, I have a very high standard in nominees. They must possess a brilliant legal mind, exceptional credentials, unimpeachable character, and unwavering dedication to the rule of law.
Judge Jackson is all of that and more, and I'm absolutely thrilled that President Biden has nominated her for a position on our nation's highest court.
Friend, sign here to stand with me in support of Judge Jackson!
It's fitting that she is being nominated to replace Justice Breyer because she previously served as his clerk. She has already been confirmed by the Senate on a bipartisan basis three times – most recently last year for a seat on the DC Court of Appeals.
She overcame the odds to grow into a tremendous student, but her guidance counselor told her to lower her sights when she said she wanted to go to Harvard. Today, as the first Black woman ever to be nominated to the Supreme Court, she is once again proving that there is no limit to how far one can go in America.
Friend, join me in standing with Judge Jackson. This is a historic moment, and we must rise to the occasion.
Onward,
Jerry
