To Indiana's Future Farmers and Ranchers

On Wednesday, Gov. Holcomb was joined by Lt. Gov. Crouch, Indiana State Department of Agriculture Director Bruce Kettler, and 115 Indiana Future Farmers of America members at the statehouse for Indiana FFA Day.
Earlier this week, Gov. Holcomb signed a proclamation to name this week FFA Week in recognition of all the work the Indiana FFA Organization, agriculture educators, and FFA advisors do to cultivate the next generation of agriculturists for our state.

Agriculture contributes an estimated $31.2 billion to Indiana’s economy.
Indiana is the eighth largest agricultural exporter in the nation, exporting just over $4.6 billion in 2017.
There are just over 94,000 farmers in Indiana.
Gov. Holcomb met with the Chief of Defense of the Slovak Republic General Daniel Zmeko this week. Mr. Zemko presented Gov. Holcomb with a set of commemorative coins.

The governor had sided for months with Senate Republicans reluctant to embrace major tax cuts, citing uncertainty about the economy despite a big jump in tax collections boosting the state’s budget surplus.

Last week, Sen. Todd Young joined fellow Republicans at a press conference on the impact bad Democratic policies have had on inflation, and consequently, Hoosier families.
"Forty years, a forty-year high in price inflation and $276 in additional expenditures for working families each month, that’s the average amount that Hoosier families are having to pay on account of policy decisions.
“I’ll continue to advocate for smart policies, as opposed to these ill-advised policies, because this is having a real impact on rank-and-file Americans, and it has to stop."
