Alex Dubé Scholarship Program


March 1–April 15

Named for former dancer, dance advocate and President of Career Transition For Dancers Alex Dubé, the Alex Dubé Scholarship Program supports the education of dancers to build their next professional platforms.

Eligible dancers enrolled in accredited degree programs can receive up to $10,000 to assist with tuition payment as they take the next step forward in their careers. Join The Career Center Orientation and meet with an Actors Fund Career Counselor to get started.

 


The Career Center

The Career Center offers a comprehensive suite of online programs and services that help entertainment industry and performing arts professionals to identify and find sideline work and discover new careers outside the industry.

Get started by attending The Career Center Orientation (Monday or Thursday* session) to enroll in the career services offered. Once you've done that, you can enroll in workshops including Time & Energy: Balancing the Multiple Demands of Art, Work and LifeCareer Journey* and Social Networking*.

Financial Wellness

Financial Wellness online workshops and seminars increase your financial knowledge and help you learn the tools and skills to support lifelong financial health and stability.

Take Budgeting Nuts & Bolts to learn the basics of financial wellness.

Health & Health Insurance

The Actors Fund offers personalized health insurance counseling and enrollment support, referrals to health care resources and seminars on how to care for yourself.

You can also join us for Welcome to Medicare and Every Artist Insured: Getting Affordable Coverage in NY/NJ.

The Friedman Health Center for the Performing Arts, our primary and specialty care health center, is open for appointments. The Health Center accepts most insurance plans, including commercial insurances, several Marketplace/Exchange plans, Medicare and Workers’ Compensation. Call 212.930.7300 for an appointment.

Housing

The Actors Fund operates several affordable housing residences across the country, and also offers resources to help you learn more about affordable housing opportunities and other housing-related issues you may encounter.

The Actors Fund is pleased to work with Brookfield Properties on four rent-stabilized apartment buildings along the waterfront in Brooklyn and the Bronx. Join our webinar to learn more about how to successfully apply to affordable housing lotteries for these state-of-the-art properties.

Social Services

With respect and understanding, our professional social workers offer our community help to address a wide array of challenges via online and phone counseling and support groups, education and practical help—completely free of charge.

Join the Tuesday or Wednesday cohort of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. Additional offerings include Mindfulness Meditation With The Actors Fund and Self-Care to Give Care.
