Now, you know it's not just Florida. Politicians are racing to pass abortion bans in Arizona, West Virginia, Missouri, and other states.
They are emboldened by the Supreme Court, a majority of which have records hostile to reproductive freedom, and are considering overturning
Roe v. Wade, the case that established our right to abortion.
So what do we do?
We fight back with everything we've got.
When the Florida House held hearings on this bill, Planned Parenthood supporters showed up to testify with passion and outrage. There were no pro-reproductive freedom observers when Florida representatives voted against our rights. But our opponents cannot silence us. Activists have kept showing up at the Capitol, rallying to tell politicians pushing abortion bans that we have our eyes on them.
When politicians are afraid to hear from the people they are supposed to represent, it's because they know how unpopular their agenda is. When they try to sneak dangerous new bills through in the middle of the night, it's because they're afraid of being seen for who they really are.
It's on us to keep showing up. It's on us to lift up our voices. It's on us to stand together.
We're seeing that kind of commitment from activists in Florida. Patients and providers are speaking out in Texas and Mississippi. Planned Parenthood supporters are mobilizing in Arizona and Missouri and on the steps of the Supreme Court. Everywhere that reproductive freedom is under attack, people like you are fighting back.
The only way to protect our rights is by keeping up the pressure on the lawmakers who are pushing these dangerous bans.
Will you chip in right now to help power this movement to defend sexual and reproductive health and rights?
Thank you for
doing your part to strengthen this movement.
In solidarity,
Kelley Robinson, Executive Director
