Health Advocates,

As we near the end of Black History Month, we want to take a moment to highlight the connection between racial justice and health care, and what we can do to ensure everyone has the opportunity to live their healthiest life, regardless of the color of their skin. We'd also like to celebrate the historic nomination of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court. Below, you will find a blog post outlining the intersection of health and racial justice, more information on the new historic Supreme Court nomination, and updated resources for your health advocacy.

Upcoming Events

  • Supreme Court Celebration - The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights: If you’re in the DC area, please join LCCR at the Supreme Court to celebrate this historic nomination at 5:00 p.m. ET! We will gather in celebration at the sidewalk in front of the Supreme Court. Invite a friend (or two or five), bring your favorite handmade sign, wear your favorite mask, and join us in community! Please reach out with any questions to [email protected].

  • InHospitable at the Miami Film Festival 2022: If you attended Families USA's Health Action Conference this year, you'll recognize this film from our Hospital Pricing workshop! InHospitable follows patients and activists as they band together to fight UPMC, a multi-billion dollar nonprofit hospital system that was limiting vital care for hundreds of thousands of vulnerable patients in western Pennsylvania. Get tickets here.

Thank you for your tireless advocacy as we continue fighting for the best health care for all of America's families. Please reach out to any of us at Families USA to connect on our shared advocacy efforts, or to let us know what you’d like featured in upcoming Resource Roundups!

Have a great weekend,
