Dear John,

We know that as a D.C. resident, you don't have representation in the Senate. But you can still turn your joy about Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson's nomination into action by forwarding this email to your friends in other states around the country. Urge them to help make history by reaching out to their senators now. Thank you for being in this fight with us.

Subject: BREAKING: We have a SCOTUS nominee

Fighting for gender justice in the courts, in public policy, and in our society.
Justice for her. Justice for all.

Dear John,

President Biden just announced his nominee to fill Justice Breyer’s vacancy on the Supreme Court—Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson. Judge Jackson is currently a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia and was a former clerk for Justice Breyer. She’s also the first Black woman ever to be nominated to the Supreme Court—and now it’s time to make sure she makes history as the first Black woman on the high court.

CONFIRM JUDGE JACKSON [[link removed]]
We’re so excited to see this historic moment finally come—but we’re also excited to see someone like Judge Jackson on the bench. She’s not only highly qualified for the job but has shown through her record a deep understanding of the law and a commitment to ensure that civil rights and gender justice protections are a reality for everyone.

Judge Jackson has:
Ruled on over 550 cases as a trial court judge
Ruled in favor of reproductive, disability, and labor rights
Clerked at every level of the federal courts
Served as a federal public defender representing defendants with low incomes

Now, it’s time for the Senate to give Judge Jackson a fair and timely hearing, like she deserves.

Tell the Senate: Confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson [[link removed]]

Tell your senators to confirm Judge Jackson without obstruction or delay.

TAKE ACTION [[link removed]]

Biden’s nomination of Judge Jackson brings us closer to a more diverse court that understands the importance of liberty, bodily autonomy, and equal justice under the law. But we know her confirmation will not come without a fight. Matter of fact, we’ve already seen some members of the Senate and media begin to levy racist and sexist attacks against even the potential of a Black woman on the Supreme Court. If senators try the same tactics in this fight to confirm Judge Jackson to the Supreme Court, we’re ready to face them. We’re not going to let racism and sexism stop this historic nominee— are you with us? [[link removed]]

Even in the face of a fight, this is a moment of joy for us—and for every Black girl and woman who has waited to see someone like her in one of the most powerful seats in our country.

It’s time to make history. [[link removed]]

Sincerely,
Fatima Goss Graves
