Sign the Secure MI Vote Petition Today! CTV Alert February 25, 2022 Help Restore Election Integrity in Michigan! Every illegally cast vote erodes the integrity of our representative republic and reduces the influence your voice at the ballot box.. CTV wants to restore faith in Michigan elections and prevent voter fraud by requiring a valid ID at the polls. Last year, we supported a number of bills introduced by state legislators, but the governor refused to sign them. Now, citizen statesmen are working to directly restore confidence in our elections with a citizen-initiated law. CTV supports the SecureMIVote.org ballot initiative and is looking for passionate individuals to help gather signatures to enact this meaningful reform. Here's How It Works: Citizens sign a petition to make a law that the governor can't veto. 500,000 signatures are needed for the Board of Canvassers to validate. The petition will then go to the state Legislature, who can immediately adopt the law. Order Your Free Petitions Today! What the Secure MI Vote Petition Does: Requires ID to obtain a ballot: The goal of this initiative is to reduce the number of fraudulent votes that make their way into our elections, such as votes cast under fictitious or deceased names, multiple votes cast by the same person, or votes cast by those who are not US citizens. Ensures every citizen has access to ID: If someone cannot afford to pay for an ID, a Voter Access Fund would pay for their ID. This initiative does not create any financial barrier for voters. Secures Provisional Voting: If someone forgets their ID at the polls, their precinct will give them a provisional ballot. This ballot can be cast once proof of identity is shown within six days of Election Day. Secures Absentee Ballots: If someone can’t make it to the polls, they can still vote with an absentee ballot. They just need to include their Drivers’ License Number or State Identification number on their ballot along with the last four digits of their Social Security Number. We need hundreds of thousands of signatures to make this historic election reform happen in time for an honest November 2022 election. You can help by circulating petitions and collecting signatures. Tell us how many you need here, and we will rush them to you at no charge. Together, we can restore confidence in Michigan's elections! Thank you for your partnership in this historic endeavor!
