ACT NOW: Stop the Policing Bill, Protect Protest Rights
** The Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill is a threat to our rights to freedom of assembly and expression, and our ability to hold the Government to account.
Peers in the House of Lords have voted to remove some of the most repressive anti-protest measures ([link removed]) , and the bill is now set to return to the Commons on Monday, 28th February ([link removed]) , where the Government may attempt to re-insert them. MPs cannot allow this; they must act to protect our civil liberties.
Only 3 DAYS remain; this may be our last chance to protect protest rights and speak out against the disproportionate impact this bill will have on already marginalised communities.

The Muslim Council of Britain has also joined 80 other faith & belief leaders in signing a joint letter on the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts (PCSC), or 'Policing Bill'.
Together, we’re urging every MPs to support the Lords' amendments on protest & speak out against measures set to target marginalised communities.
Zara Mohammed, Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Britain, said:
“The Police, Crime Sentencing and Courts Bill impinges greatly upon our fundamental rights to freedom of assembly and expression, and the public's ability to hold the Government to account.
“It will undoubtedly exacerbate pre-existing disparities in policing and the criminal justice system and target already marginalised communities.
“We stand together, across faith communities, in support of the Lords' amendments to this bill, and urge MPs to act to protect our civil liberties when this bill returns to the Commons."
