Like all freedom-loving people, I am horrified by the scenes out of the Ukraine.
In 2012, I was one of the last Americans to enter the port of Sevastopol, then Ukrainian, before it was annexed by Russia a few years later. I remember the people, the food, and hospitality. Russia is not, and never has been, our friend.
Today I helped lead the entire Florida House in condemning their needless aggression.
None of us want to see Americans dying in foreign lands or innocent people suffer, therefore we are taking swift and severe actions to make sure Russia pays economically. It's working:
But, Russia is a huge exporter of oil and natural gas. Prices are high, and they are about to go up even more. To take the edge off, I would remind y'all that I'm sponsoring HB6083 to help reduce the price you're paying at the pump.
Still, we should all conserve what we can and do so in solidarity with the people of the Ukraine. Don't buy one dollar of their stock or Russian products for that matter. Let's ALL do our part to hold Russia accountable for their needless aggression.
