John,

Every year, the federal government gives billions of our tax dollars to the fossil fuel industry. That’s right: billions of dollars are propping up a dying industry that is poisoning our water and fueling the global climate crisis.

Instead of giving money to polluters, we need to halt new fossil fuel infrastructure, rapidly phase out fossil fuels and transition to clean renewable energy.

Without rapid Congressional action to address massive polluter handouts, we’ll see more harm to our communities and the environment. We need to pressure every single member of Congress to finally end fossil fuel subsidies!

Send a message to your members of Congress and urge them to end federal funding for the fossil fuel industry!

This year, the federal government is starting to push out even more fossil fuel subsidies for climate scams like Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). While the idea of CCS might sound good on paper, it doesn’t work in the real world. Betting on failed ideas like carbon capture as real solutions to the climate crisis is the same as giving up.

In fact, research shows that carbon capture schemes have actually put more CO2 into the atmosphere than they have removed.

Carbon capture will lock us into decades more of fossil fuels, and it diverts money and political attention from the real, bold solutions we need. As climate-driven fires and floods ravage our country, giving away billions of dollars in direct subsidies to the fossil fuel industry and their climate scams is unconscionable.

Tell Congress: Now is the time to halt dirty energy scams, not encourage decades more of them.

Stop Funding Climate Scams!

The ongoing buildout of fossil fuel infrastructure is impossible without massive public handouts, which is why repealing fossil fuel subsidies is a critical part of Food & Water Action’s strategy to ban fracking everywhere. But to win this fight, we need you to join us and speak out.

Together, we need to speak out against polluting fossil fuel corporations and fight for a livable planet now. We can’t allow more handouts for fossil fuel polluters – not one more dollar.

Tell Congress to oppose dirty energy handouts and prioritize a liveable climate future.
