Chinese Communist Party Watching Biden’s Response to Ukraine <[link removed]> – Vladimir Putin has decided to press his advantage, and once again, the world is being forced to deal with the consequences of President Biden’s weakness on the world stage. Putin has watched Biden’s embarrassing fold on the Nord Stream II pipeline. He has seen Biden’s humiliating and chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan. And he has observed Biden’s steadfast refusal to secure America’s borders. What the U.S. does next is of critical importance because this conflict is about far more than Russia and Ukraine. It is about whether America’s adversaries, especially the Chinese Communist Party, will look at the United States in the coming months and years as a formidable adversary, or a weakening and irresolute superpower. Heritage Foundation report on COVID finds gov’t efforts largely failed, ‘time to move on’ from virus <[link removed]> – Governments took unprecedented steps to contain COVID-19’s spread in the hope that a vaccine would “shut down” the virus. Those policies have failed to achieve their stated aim and have done enormous economic, social, and political harm. Perpetuating the national emergency mindset is futile, misguided, and infeasible, especially given what the data indicate as well as massive shifts in public opinion. Public officials should communicate that COVID-19 is one of many public health problems and diseases in circulation, that vaccines and natural immunity reduce the risk of severe illness and death, and that new medicines make COVID-19 a treatable disease. People at greatest risk of illness should still take precautions, but government mandates and restrictions are no longer appropriate. It is time to move on from COVID-19. Heritage Expert: Doug

Time to stop racial discrimination in college admissions <[link removed]> – It was clear in these cases that neither university tried a race-neutral alternative to achieve their “diversity” goals. Also, by “diversity,” they are not looking for students with a wide diversity of opinions, viewpoints, life experiences and academic knowledge. Instead, their admission decisions are based on stereotypes and the assumption that an individual’s race determines how that person thinks and what opinions they hold. That is insidiously racist. The Supreme Court <[link removed]> has a
constitutional, legal and moral obligation to overturn Grutter, end this corrupt, offensive discrimination, and guarantee all students an equal opportunity to succeed. Heritage Expert: Hans von Spakovsky  <[link removed]>

Reverse the effects of education redlining; unleash student potential <[link removed]> – A wide performance gap between white students and black students has persisted in D.C. public schools for generations. Lawmakers can help close this gap today, and at the same time, erase any remaining vestiges of a problem created by their brethren decades ago. To undo the lingering problems from “education redlining,” federal lawmakers and city leaders should make D.C. an all-choice district. Every family should be empowered to apply for private school scholarships, and these scholarships should allow students to choose from different learning options such as personal tutors and even transportation expenses for going to and from school.
