Happy Friday from Washington, where President Biden talks tough about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine but has gone soft on sanctions before. David Harsany has some reminders. Conservatives gather in Orlando, Florida, for CPAC and we’ve got reports on what Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Josh Hawley, and North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson had to say there. On the podcast, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton talks about protecting kids from the transgender agenda. Plus: Jim Carafano has answers to what Americans are wondering about Ukraine. On this date in 1964, 22-year-old Cassius Clay, later known as Muhammed Ali, confounds oddsmakers by dethroning Sonny Liston as world heavyweight boxing champ in a seventh-round technical knockout.

“We refused to let this state descend into some type of Fauci-an dystopia where people’s freedoms are curtailed and their livelihoods are destroyed,” says DeSantis.
“Big government sucks. Big business sucks. Big Tech, Big Hollywood, big universities—any accumulation of power that is centralized is fundamentally dangerous for individual liberty," says Cruz.
"The real virus is totalitarian, leftist thugs who have used [the COVID-19] virus to browbeat the American people and have used it for political purposes," says Robinson.
“If you're going to sterilize a child, whether it's through some type of chemical process or whether it's through some physical process," says Paxton, "that's child abuse in Texas. It's not legal."
