Just when we thought Republicans could sink no lower, we saw this. Here’s what’s happening:
“Thousands of applications for mail-in ballots submitted by Texas voters have been delayed — and some voters may ultimately not receive ballots — because Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick's campaign instructed eligible voters to send requests for absentee ballots to the Texas secretary of state’s office instead of their local elections offices.”
The Lt. Governor’s office is sowing mistrust about local elections offices, and as a result, they’ve created chaos which will lead to delayed or lost ballots.
And this is just the latest in Republicans’ attacks on our democracy.
Y’all, Texas deserves better than this.
Texas deserves leaders who will only share factual information about elections, who will work to make voting easier, and who are committed to ensuring the integrity of our democracy.
