John,
I realized there was something else I wanted to mention in yesterday’s email.
One of the consistent themes at these ReAwaken events is the false claims of election fraud. Speakers on the tour have included Trump-backed pastors like Greg Locke, who has previously argued that the only people who believe Biden actually won in 2020 "are crack-smoking, demon-possessed leftists."
While this kind of rhetoric seems unbelievable to sane, freethinking individuals like yourself, a poll taken in late 2021 found that nearly three-quarters of Republicans doubt the legitimacy of Biden’s win.
And since the 2020 election, the Department of Homeland Security has issued warnings, saying they’ve seen increasing numbers of individuals calling for violence in response to the unsubstantiated claims of election fraud.
Christian Nationalists are at the center of the rhetorical storm that’s sowing this doubt and providing justification for extreme measures, including violence, to reclaim the nation they believe is rightfully theirs to rule.
This is the movement Center for Freethought Equality is working day and night to stop. But we can’t do it without your help.
In the most consequential midterm election year of our generation, I hope you’ll decide to support the work we do here to counter Christian Nationalists at the polls and in government. >> [link removed]
Thanks again for your support,
Ron
======================
Last Friday, thousands traveled to attend the most recent ReAwaken America Tour event in Canton, OH.
One attendee told a reporter of Canton’s The Repository that she came to see one of her favorite Mikes - Lt. General Michael Flynn because he talks “about unity and for us to not be afraid.”
I’m not sure which Michael Flynn she’s talking about.
Because the Michael Flynn I know advocated military intervention, including martial law, to assist in overturning the election results.

At Friday’s event, one congressional candidate vowed that God would “raise up armies” to help Christian Nationalists “shut down” Democratic-led America. The event ended with Eric Trump phoning his father to allow the twice impeached former president to address the crowd saying “I’ll be in Ohio soon! I’ll see you all and thank you!”
John, if you think it’s too early to get involved in the midterm elections, think again. Christian Nationalist leaders like Flynn are working overtime to activate Trump’s base. We cannot allow them to go unchecked.
If you care about stopping Trump loyalists from taking back power, please contribute $15, $25, $50, or any amount to the Center for Freethought Equality election-year efforts.

I wish I could say that once Trump left office, our country was safe from the anti-democratic, racist, misogynistic, xenophobic forces that swept him into office. But since the January 6 insurrection, Christian Nationalists have only become more energized, turning out by the thousands to cheer extremists like Marjorie Taylor Greene, who was removed from her Congressional committee roles for endorsing political violence.

Every gift made today will help us recruit and elect secular champions to office, who will defend democratic processes, hold insurrectionists accountable for their actions, and fight back against all efforts to misuse religion to restrict the rights of others.
Events like last Friday's ReAwaken tour are warnings about rising anti-democratic forces in our country.
I hope you’ll heed them and choose to support the Center for Freethought Equality’s election-year efforts. Now is the time to get involved.
