“It is now the teachers’ unions that are influencing Governor Newsom and his administration to keep mask mandates in schools when those mandates are now relaxed for the rest of society. If school boards and state officials continue to do the bidding of the teachers’ unions rather than address the concerns of parents, then public education in California will continue to produce failure for the state’s children. And if parent concerns are ignored by their elected officials, then expect parents to pull their children out of the public schools and homeschool them instead.”

Some political leaders today are continuing a relentless assault on the profession of policing that pushes the false narrative that police are abusive racists even in the face of statistics from their own police watchdog and accolades from around the nation that clearly show they are not. A recent Department of Justice report states “SFPD has achieved substantial compliance with the majority of the reform recommendations. This is a significant achievement as it is the only example of voluntary reform at this level in the United States (U.S.).”

It’s hard to open the pages of a corporate media outlet and not feel as if the end times are here. Report after report tells us that every storm, dry spell, variation in weather trends, shift in human and animal migratory patterns, and oddity in vegetation growth – to name only a few of many examples – is caused by climate change, the clear implication being that man’s greenhouse gas emissions are threatening his existence as well as his planet’s.

What Do Project Price Hikes Say About How Federal Infrastructure Dollars Will Be Spent?

Even though Congress has approved the money, it will still take some time before shovels start to turn on federally-funded transportation projects from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. State policymakers still have an opportunity to enact reforms to ensure every dollar is spent to its fullest –to ease traffic gridlock, modernize current transit systems, and also create jobs and boost local economies.
Let’s hope maximizing our investment in California’s transportation future drives the day in Sacramento, rather than the traditional politician view of big check presentations and ribbon cuttings promoting politically-driven projects.
