We’re bringing together a vibrant community of educators, advocates, and parents to explore efforts towards diversifying the teacher workforce.
Research shows that exposure to teachers of color has a positive impact on students of all races, and particularly on students of color. Despite this, Pennsylvania has one of the lowest percentages of teachers of color in the nation -- which is also starkly disparate from our state’s student population. More teacher diversity is needed so that students feel represented in the classroom.
