Yesterday, the Trump administration and 19 Republican Attorneys General took the Affordable Care Act to court in Louisiana in yet another effort to strip health care away from millions of Americans.
If this lawsuit succeeds, more than 20 million people could lose their health insurance. More than 100 million Americans with pre-existing conditions could be charged more for health care costs or denied coverage altogether.
In Connecticut alone, 200,000 people could be denied coverage or see drastic premium increases due to these attacks. Fourty-five thousand of those people live in my district in CT04 and I will fight to protect them.
We can't let this happen.
The Republicans have proven they have no plan to replace the ACA. We know the ACA is not perfect, but we need everyone to come to table to improve it, not overthrow it.
While President Trump and Republicans remain committed to their relentless health care sabotage, the Democratic states and the Democratic House of Representative Members are defending the ACA because the Trump administration has refused to do so. And we will not stop fighting back to preserve your health care.
