There are just two weeks left in the 2022 legislative session and we are committed to seeing our priority policies through to the very end. With the help of our broad and dedicated coalition, we have made tremendous progress thus far.

* Honoring Parkland

Valentine’s Day marked the 4th anniversary of the tragic shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL. To commemorate the day, we held a special event featuring 123 valentines with the names of victims of gun violence from WA.

* Black History Month

As part of our Black History Month activities, the Alliance has officially launched our first statewide Black Chapter Team! We are looking forward to seeing all that this community will accomplish together.

* Remington Verdict

Last week, Sandy Hook families reached an unprecedented $73 million settlement with Remington Arms, the manufacturer of the gun used to carry out the massacre. No amount of money can make up for the loss suffered by these families, but this historic decision sends a clear message to the gun industry that it is not above the law.
