Dear John,
You forced the Trudeau government to back down.
You told politicians to reject the Emergencies Act and now Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is revoking the Act.
Canadian Taxpayers Federation asked supporters like you to email members of Parliament and senators and demanded action. And because of your action, Trudeau is revoking the Emergencies Act.
Trudeau was taking a sledgehammer to government accountability. The Minister of Justice David Lametti said the powers could be applied based on your political views.
Trudeau is backing down because thousands of taxpayers like you spoke out against the Emergencies Act. When taxpayers stand united and demand action, politicians have no choice but to act.
Trudeau revoking the Emergencies Act is a huge victory for your ability to hold the government accountable. Your action led to meaningful change. But you need to stay vigilant and continue to fight back against the skyrocketing government debt and other forms of political censorship.
Thanks for fighting for taxpayers – it’s making a difference.
Sincerely,
- Franco, Shannon, Todd and the rest of the CTF team.
PS: You defeated Trudeau’s Emergencies Act and scored a big win for government accountability. But Trudeau is still trying to limit your ability to hold him accountable online.
