Dear Friend,

February has been busy, and we're not done yet!

Today, Race Forward released a new tool: Organizing for Racial Equity Within the Federal Government, which lays out a clear path for federal civil servants who are committed to helping their institutions achieve racial equity. The resource focuses on unifying strategies and structures that facilitate a deep, widespread, and sustained commitment to racial equity across the whole of government. Emerging and leading racial equity practitioners who understand it is important to continually bring more people together and to build staff and organizational capacity for change will find this resource helpful.

In Case You Missed It: We also recently released two other tools to help advance racial equity in the federal government in response to the Biden Administration’s Executive Order on Racial Equity:

And, earlier this month, along with PolicyLink we hosted Racial Equity: “The Whole of Government Responsibility." Guests included Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), and New Georgia Project CEO Nsé Ufot, both of whom discussed the need for these tools and the importance of the federal government working with communities of color to advance racial equity.

During these trying times, it's important to share the things that keep us going. In this edition, we hear from our Senior Video Producer, Tiye Rose.

"Station Eleven is an HBO Max mini-series adapted from the novel by Emily St. John Mandel. While much of the story does revolve around life after a worldwide pandemic, it feels like catharsis and it is beautifully done. It also highlights something we never see in post-apocalyptic media: what happens to art when the world ends. Does art survive and endure? I highly recommend it for the acting and cinematography too."
