World Population Review published an article on public school rankings per state. The author wrote “Finding the best public school is a priority for many families. A good education is important to these families, who may even choose where they purchase or rent housing to ensure their children are in the best public school systems.

Public schools play a vital role in their respective communities. Public schools improve their communities and the welfare of children. Public schools welcome all children, no matter their income level, disability, or previous academic performance. Many schools provide school meals, which helps children from food-insecure families get nutritious food every day. The better the public school, the more likely students will achieve higher educational attainment.”

Last is nothing to be proud of.

According to Center for the Future of Arizona the top 10 shared public values include:

  • Education - a highly educated and skilled population
  • Jobs and Economic Opportunity - good-paying jobs and the education and training needed for all Arizonans to fully participate in a vibrant economy.
Education equals jobs and economic opportunity which include public safety.
I will continue to prioritize education and the success of our children. While the city of Phoenix does not deliver K-12 education services, we do have a youth and education office and the support it provides to students and families can make the difference between academic failure and success.
As your Councilwoman my only priority will be working for your families and businesses.

Thank you for your trust and support,
