Hey everyone -

It’s Doris Matsui, and I just wanted to quickly write about how much I love Sacramento, a city I’m proud to call home.

As the Sacramento region continues to grow, I’ve been working hard to fund the modern infrastructure we need. From flood prevention, to making our roads safer and shortening commutes, to keeping our economy flourishing, I’ve brought home funding for projects to keep Sacramento safe and prosperous. In fact, I fought hard to secure federal funding to ensure the Sacramento region has the flood infrastructure it needs to stay safe. There’s more than $190 million in potential funding that could be headed straight into Sacramento – money for projects like our new I Street Bridge, our flood protection projects, and renewable energy improvements.

Sacramento was voted one of the best areas in the country to start a business, and it’s easy to see why. Sacramento is a thriving hub of innovation, small businesses, and entrepreneurial opportunity. I’m proud to support the local businesses that do so much for all of us. As your representative, I’m committed to helping them make it through this pandemic even stronger. That’s why I’ve led efforts to keep funding for small businesses in recent COVID-19 response legislation.

And of course, Sacramento wouldn’t be Sacramento without its people! Warm, welcoming, and vibrant people make our city such a wonderful place to live. Over the last fifteen years, I’ve been proud to work alongside Sacramentans to move our community forward.
