No matter how bad you think it could be, we promise it’s worse

Indivisibles,

Have you seen it? Yesterday, Senator Rick Scott released an 11 point plan to destroy America. No matter how bad you think it could be, we promise it’s worse.1

Here are 11 “highlights”:

  1. Raise taxes on the poor (pg. 35)
  2. Build a wall and name it after Donald Trump (pg. 12)
  3. Double down on Trump’s false claims of a “rigged election” (pg. 42)
  4. Make it harder to vote (pg. 42)
  5. Make it harder to get an abortion, if not ban it altogether (pg. 51)
  6. Drastically cut IRS funding and make it harder to enforce tax collection (pg. 39)
  7. Dismantle the Department of Education (pg. 19)
  8. Codify transphobia (pg. 51)
  9. Rewrite history and play politics with our children’s education (pg. 18)
  10. Make nationalism mandatory (pg. 11)
  11. Remove the separation of church and state and legalize discrimination based on gender or sexual orientation (pg. 14)

Once upon a time, these would have been fringe positions. But Rick Scott’s a mainstream Republican! The GOP will stop at nothing to put all these suggestions and more into motion. That’s why our midterm programs are so important: The Democratic incumbents we protect through our Give No Ground campaign and the strong progressives we endorse are all that stands in the way of Republicans implementing their heinous plans.

That means we need to pour all we’ve got into our award-winning textbanking and phonebanking programs, getting folks the supplies they need to safely knock doors nationwide, contributing directly to promising candidates, and more. We’re budgeting over $5 MILLION to win this year, and we simply can’t do it without your help.

Rick Scott has put the Republicans’ whole agenda on display -- if you donate in his honor by the end of this month (February 28 at 11:59 PM PT), we’ll send a thank you note from you to Scott’s office, thanking him for saying the quiet part out loud and showing us how hard we need to work to defeat his agenda. We want to flood his office with notes from people who won’t go down without a fight, so click here to donate $10 today in honor of Rick Scott to fund everything we’re going to do to keep his hateful agenda from gaining any more traction.

We’ll be real with you for a second -- it can be hard to read plans like Rick Scott’s without despairing. The hate on display from many members of the GOP is shocking. This movement is what gives us hope that we can overcome that hate. We know, through interacting with folks like you every day, that there are still people who care about one another and are willing to fight to protect our communities. Now’s the time to get that fight started. We’re with you every step of the way.

In solidarity,
Indivisible Team
