As a nonprofit news outlet, we rely nearly 100% on reader donations to fund our newsroom operation.

But the unfortunate reality is that if you add up the many millions of people who read Common Dreams each year, less than 1% ever make a donation to support the work.

We know people love and value our journalism. That’s why they keep coming back again and again. But most people never get around to donating.

Some intend to but simply put it off or forget. We know many simply don’t have the means to make even a small donation—and we understand. Others, we assume, just figure their donation won’t really make much of a difference.

Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, we simply wouldn’t be able to survive without you. And if everyone just did the little bit they could—$5, $8, $22, or whatever is possible to afford—we’d be able to end this campaign today.
