Earlier today, the GOP’s gerrymandered state legislative maps were UPHELD by a panel dominated by Republican judges.

Republicans are setting themselves up to gain a SUPERMAJORITY in the State Senate.

John, it’s unconscionable that these maps were allowed to stand. They’re an obvious partisan power grab — Republican legislators drew lines that would protect their positions of power while making it impossible for Democratic candidates to stand a chance, no matter what the voters actually want.

Functionally, these maps give some voters more of a say in our government than others. That’s an absolute failure of our democracy.

Roy is working hard to ensure that every single North Carolinian has their voice heard in elections to come and that power is not simply consolidated in the hands of the few. That’s why he’s advocating for a Nonpartisan Redistricting Committee — because after two consecutive redistricting cycles that the GOP has used to gain unjust power, we can NEVER let this happen again.
