Hello,
This month is a time to celebrate Black History makers and those who are fighting for us today. Like Representatives Joyce Beatty and Shontel Brown who are working to make our country more equitable by giving a voice to Black Ohioans every day. And Secretary Marcia Fudge who leads the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Their leadership is an inspiration to the next generation of Black leaders who will one day continue the fight for equality. They remind us that change-makers aren't just a thing of the past. We're lucky enough to see them make history today.
And we need their advocacy -- to make our country a safer, more equitable place for all. To fight for the right to vote. To fight for access to quality healthcare. And to fight for our future.
I'm so thankful we have strong leaders like Joyce Beatty and Shontel Brown fighting for Ohioans in Congress. I'm grateful that Secretary Fudge is leading the Department of Housing and Urban Development to erase barriers in our communities.
This month, while we remember how far our country has come and celebrate Black History, we also give thanks to the current Black leaders in our state. There's so much more to do to end systemic racism, and I'm so thankful they're in this fight with us.
Thank you,
Malik
