Dear John,
What an inspiring virtual town hall we had last night with Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. I was so honored to have gotten the chance to talk to him about his clean energy priorities, what he sees as the work still to do and how we can help advance pro-climate policies.
If you weren’t able to join – or even if you were and you want to watch it again – the event is available on our EDF Action YouTube channel.
We covered a lot of ground focusing mainly on his efforts to implement transformational change in our transportation sector, the largest source of climate pollution in the U.S.
Secretary Buttigieg highlighted the importance of putting people and communities squarely at the center of this work and prioritizing equitable policies that take into account historical burdens poorer communities and communities of color have suffered over many generations.
He also emphasized that more is still needed in order to reduce emissions and tackle the climate crisis, including passing the climate elements of the President’s agenda.
The Secretary thanked EDF Action for its grassroots engagement in pushing climate priorities and talked about how essential that work will be in advancing the rest of what’s needed.
So, I hope you’ll act now to help us continue the effort to advance pro-climate policies in Congress. Please CLICK HERE to take action online and tell Congress that Climate Action Can’t Wait.
You can also support EDF Action’s legislative agenda by making a donation today.
We hope you get the chance to watch our virtual town hall with Secretary Buttigieg. And we can’t thank you enough for the actions and donations that make everything we do possible!
Thank you,
Elizabeth Gore
