Hello Team,

Throughout my career, I have made defending the environment a top priority. I fought to clean up toxic coal ash in Quantico Creek, regulate harmful polluters, and am an original co-sponsor of the Green New Deal because it is clear that we are at an environmental inflection point - we can save our planet from total ecological collapse, and preserve it for future generations - but we must act NOW. 

That is why I am asking you to join me in signing our petition to urge the Department of the Interior: Protect Endangered Gray Wolves!

Although it may seem small, this step is essential to defending one of the few remaining populations of predators native to North America. For thousands of years, gray wolves roamed massive swathes of our country as an essential part of the ecosystem - but in the past few generations their population has been devastated by human intervention, destroying their habitats and uprooting the food chain. 

We had taken action to defend gray wolves before, but as with most sensible regulations Donald Trump forced the US Fish and Wildlife Service to remove gray wolves from the Endangered Species List. It was one of his final actions before his 2020 defeat, an attempt to appease hunters, herders, and developers being restricted by the protections gray wolves desperately need. He single-handedly erased the protections that had allowed this incredible species to make a modest (but fragile) recovery over the past few years. 

So please -  sign our petition to tell the Department of Interior to return the Gray Wolves to the Endangered Species list!
