Dear John,
Twelve years ago, my parents took me and my brother to the Boundary Waters for the first time. To me, it felt like coming home. I fell in love with everything about the wilderness and ended up crying when it was time to leave. Since then, the Boundary Waters has become “my place” – that space in the world that I want to be as much as I can, whenever I can.

A little over 5 years ago, I was diagnosed with leukemia. I’d tell you about the experience, but most people aren’t terribly interested in the particulars of hair loss and vomiting. The important detail is that I’m still here, and I’ve made it my mission to help save the Boundary Waters.
But I need your help. Will you pitch in $10, $25, or even $100 to help protect this special place for generations to come?

Since recovering, I’ve worked to establish Kids for the Boundary Waters, a project of the Campaign that gives youth the opportunity to advocate locally and nationally for Boundary Waters protection. Since our inception in the Summer of 2018, we have taken over 110 kids to our nation’s capital, and plan to bring 100 more in the Summer of 2020.

We are so close to achieving our goal, but we still need to raise $25,000. Can you help us out with a donation to the Wilderness today?

When you support the Campaign to Save the Boundary Waters, you help programs like Kids for the Boundary Waters to thrive. Join me, my fellow youth, and thousands of others in the fight to protect the Boundary Waters by making a gift of any size today.

Thank you for your support.
