Truth. Honesty. Decency. Equality. I've spent my entire career defending these sacred American values, John. It's imperative that our next president does the same. Whether it's me or one of my fellow candidates, our Democratic nominee will need the full weight of our party behind them if we're going to have a shot at defeating Trump and the Republicans. Put simply, that's the only way we'll restore principles to the White House.

I know I have what it takes to prosecute the case against Donald Trump. We simply cannot afford to have a leader whose motives for the country are so often driven by fear, division, and self-interest. Our constitution demands more, and so must we.

I don't need to explain to you what's at stake here. It's critical that our eventual nominee has the tools and resources they'll need in 2020. We cannot wait to do this work -- we must start right now if we hope to have any chance at beating Trump and the RNC's record-breaking fundraising machine. That's exactly where the DNC's Democratic Unity Fund comes in.

I am asking you to split a $3 donation between my campaign and the Democratic Unity Fund. Your gift today is a promise that whoever becomes our party's standard bearer, as well as candidates in all 50 states, will have the full support of our party behind them.

I started my campaign because I wanted to fight for working people. To give a voice to the voiceless. This president fights for himself and the corrupt special interests that support him -- and we can build a better way forward for our country by electing a Democrat to the White House in 2020 and winning seats all across our nation. But to do that, we need to get to work now, before it's too late.

The DNC is hard at work building a strong, well-resourced operation to hand over to our eventual presidential nominee as soon as the general election begins. The Democratic Unity Fund is a unified effort that will pave the path to victory for whoever our Democratic nominee is -- from training organizers in key battleground states, to running a best-in-class data warehouse, and holding Trump accountable on a daily basis through the DNC War Room. And let me tell you, we're going to need it.
