Right after the 2020 election, 17 of the 25 Republican Attorneys General signed on to a lawsuit to delay the certification of the outcome of the election. Now, election experts are warning that Republican AGs may try to steal the 2024 election.
Here’s what experts fear may happen in 2024: if a Democratic candidate wins narrowly in a state that has a Republican AG, that Republican AG could use their position to delegitimize the election results, amplify false records of voter fraud, and attempt to prosecute county clerks and other election administrators in an attempt to overturn the election results.
We are already seeing GOP primary candidates in states like Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, and Wisconsin pushing conspiracies around rigged elections and highlighting false claims of voter fraud. Republican AGs across the country have made it abundantly clear that they care more about Donald Trump and their political careers than about upholding the rule of law.
Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and with more than 30 AG seats up for grabs in 2022, we need your support – will you chip in today?
