As we enter the holiday
season, spending time with family and giving back is on our
minds. However, for business owners, this time of year is likely the
busiest season for sales. One way shoppers and store owners can come
together this November is to participate in small business Saturday on
Nov. 30, 2019. This is a day where folks are encouraged to shop local
and support community retail, intentionally placed between two major
retailing days: Black Friday and Cyber Monday. This Nov. 30 is an
opportunity for both shoppers and retailers to not miss. No matter
where folks are traveling this season, there is always a small business
to support.

Senate Budget Committee approves historic bipartisan budget
reforms
The U.S. Senate
Budget Committee approved bipartisan budget reforms sponsored by U.S.
Senators Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., and Sheldon Whitehouse D-R.I., to fix the
government’s broken budget process. The historic measure
approved represents the first bipartisan budget reforms approved by the
Senate Budget Committee since 1990.
“This legislation would take several positive steps toward a
more active, thoughtful, and functional budget
process,” said Enzi. “It
represents a package of necessary, pragmatic and significant reforms
that do not tilt the scales toward any one party, ideology or policy
outcome. This is an important step in the right direction as we all
look to become better stewards of taxpayer
dollars.”

Enzi introduces bill
to save national parks from critical maintenance
issues
Enzi introduced legislation
that would address the nearly $12 billion maintenance backlog at our
national parks without adding to the national debt.
“Our national parks are a testament to our
heritage and the natural beauty of this nation,” Enzi said.
“However, without sufficient funding, our parks can fall into disrepair.
This bill would help ensure our national parks are properly maintained
so folks can continue to enjoy them now and in the
future.”

of tobacco products and e-cigarettes

examining the response to lung illnesses and rising youth electronic
cigarette use, Enzi expressed his concern about the continued use of
cigarettes, the vaping crisis and the detrimental harms tobacco has
caused.
The National Youth Tobacco
Survey found that the number of teenagers who vape has increased 700% since
2013. According to the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, 29.6% of
Wyoming high school students use e-cigarettes compared to 27.5% across the
country, and 15.7% of Wyoming high school students smoke compared to
5.8% nationally.

Enzi and U.S. Senator John Barrasso, R-Wyo.,
introduced a resolution to designate Dec. 10, 2019 as Wyoming Women’s
Suffrage Day to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Wyoming granting
women the right to vote.
“Wyoming has been a leader for women’s equality and we are proud
of our history behind this movement,” Enzi said. “From the
