We sent Dean to Congress to call out the corrosive influence of money in politics and weed out corruption at every level.
But now a year later, a clear picture is emerging: Republican groups don't like the fact that Dean is shining a light on corruption -- and taking action to stop it. Not one bit. Now, the NRCC and other interest groups are aggressively investing in anyone they think can defeat Dean in 2020.
The special interest groups that oppose Dean see him as a threat to their grasp on our political system. They're ready to pounce on any opportunity to bring him down.
And to be honest, with public impeachment hearings happening right now in D.C., it's hard to know what will happen next. We have to be prepared for anything.
We have to send a message to everyone looking to stop Dean's movement for reform: It's not going to be easy.
