WEDNESDAY, MARCH 9th
Dallas County Commissioner J.J. Koch
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 16th
State Senator Dr. Dawn Buckingham

Hello Dallas County Young Republicans!

Please join us on Wednesday, March 9th at 6:30 PM at Ozona Grill & Bar located at 4615 Greenville Avenue as we host the local Republican official most directly on the front lines of the Dallas County response to Covid-19 – Dallas County Commissioner J.J. Koch. Commissioner Koch is the ONLY Republican on the Dallas County Commissioners Court. The Commissioners Court, led by Democrat County Judge Clay Jenkins, is the local entity with the greatest power in Dallas County’s response to Covid-19. Commissioner Koch has consistently fought against Judge Jenkins’ handling of Covid-19 and has been a true champion for conservative governance here in Dallas County. He’s a loyal member of Dallas County Young Republicans, and we need to vigorously support him in his re-election effort this year. Democrats have re-drawn Commissioner Koch’s district – this will be a COMPETITIVE race. Most of our membership lives in Commissioner Koch’s district, so this will be an opportunity for DYR members to have a
direct impact on the outcome of a critically important race here in Dallas County. This will be a wonderful chance to meet Commissioner Koch, hear first-hand how he has pushed back on liberal over-reach in Dallas County, and learn about ways for you to volunteer for his campaign in your neighborhood. Commissioner Koch will begin his remarks promptly at 7:00 PM.

You have built Dallas YR into a force for conservative values in North Texas, and I ask that you continue to make this great organization even stronger! Commissioner Koch’s race is the perfect example of the real impact that DYR can have in promoting conservative change in Dallas. This is a race in your neighborhood that will have a lasting impact on the way Dallas County is governed. Your time, effort, and energy in volunteering could be the margin of victory.

I also want to remind you about our second special event for the month of March. Please join us on Wednesday, March 16^th at 6:30 PM at the Dallas Petroleum Club as we host an exciting statewide candidate – current Texas State Senator and candidate for Texas Land Commissioner, Dr. Dawn Buckingham! Dr. Buckingham, who has been endorsed by President Trump, is running to become Texas’ first female Land Commissioner. Dr. Buckingham is the first Republican from Travis County ever elected to the Texas Senate, an experienced oculoplastic surgeon, a seventh-generation Texan, and a fighter for conservative values. Land Commissioner is a vitally important state-wide elected office with a broad range of functions, including funding public education, veterans affairs, oil and gas management, border security, preservation of state monuments, and disaster response. The Land Commissioner, by virtue of the office’s wide portfolio of responsibilities, touches on critical issues like energy independence and
reliability, border security, and quality public education.

We successfully turned out 150 people for our February event with Justice Eva Guzman, and I would love to see us do that again with Dr. Buckingham! Dr. Buckingham is running for a critically important statewide office, so this event will be a wonderful opportunity for you to invite your friends! Looking forward to seeing everyone at this event!
