Friend,
This week marks the end of Black History Month, a month that recognizes the significant contributions Black people and communities have made to American history. During Black History Month and beyond, Fair Fight Action strives to lift up communities of color, and to combat efforts to disempower and disenfranchise voters.
As we close out Black History Month, we want to highlight some of the organizations that undertake critical work like ours. These organizations were created to serve, represent and protect the rights of Black people in Georgia. Please consider celebrating the end of Black History Month by supporting one or more of these organizations and making a donation today.
Black Voters Matter Fund - The goal of Black Voters Matter Fund is to increase power in marginalized, predominantly Black communities. Effective voting allows a community to determine its own destiny.
The Coalition for the People’s Agenda - The Georgia Coalition for the People’s Agenda is an umbrella organization of human rights, civil rights, labor, women’s, youth, and peace and justice groups which advocate for voting rights protection, elimination of barriers to the ballot box, criminal justice reform, quality education, affordable housing, economic development and equal participation in the political process for Georgians of color and underrepresented communities.
Southern Center for Human Rights - The Southern Center for Human Rights is a non-profit public interest law firm dedicated to enforcing the civil and human rights of people in the criminal justice system in the South.
SisterSong - The SisterSong Women of Color Reproductive Justice Collective, also known as SisterSong, is a national activist organization with roots in Georgia dedicated to reproductive justice for women of color.
Thank you for being in the fight with all of us.
