Breaking news from Louisville, John: Keturah Herron just won her special election for the Kentucky state House! She is now the first out LGBTQ person ever elected to the body!
Iโ€™m so proud of Keturah and was honored to be supporting her campaign on-the-ground this past weekend and to be with her tonight as we celebrate victory. Check out some of the photos:

Through her work for the ACLU and as an LGBTQ activist, Keturah is already familiar with the legislative process. Keturah notably led the successful charge to pass Breonnaโ€™s Law, which banned no-knock warrants in the city of Louisville after the tragic killing of Breonna Taylor in 2020. She also successfully advocated for legislation improving school safety for children and preserving voting rights.
And Keturah already has a few new bills in mind: she wants to expand voting rights for all disenfranchised people, including returning citizens and Black Kentuckians, and prevent gun violence. While Keturahโ€™s hard at work ensuring Kentucky voters can cast their ballots and kids have safe learning environments, weโ€™re already working to ensure she wins her next race โ€“ she has a primary coming up to hold this seat!
Donate to Victory Fund today to celebrate Keturahโ€™s victory โ€“ and help more candidates like her win! [[link removed]]
