John,

I am proud to announce that the House passed the Global Respect Act, a bill I co-sponsored that denies visas to those who commit human rights abuses against LGTBQ+ people, sanctioning individuals and nations who commit these abuses.

This is a step forward in protecting the rights of the LGBTQ+ community around the world. It ensures that America is not a safe haven for those who violate the human rights of individuals because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

For far too long, state-sanctioned violence around the world has targeted members of the LGBTQ+ community without any repercussions. This bill will help bring some justice to these horrific acts by banning offenders from entering our country, gathering data on anti-LGBTQ crimes, and holding violators accountable.

Thank you,
Hank Johnson (he/him)
